Top 5 Batmobile Gifts for Your Lil' Geek
It has been a great summer for superhero movies and I'm in that shameless camp of fangirls who have watched The Dark Knight multiple times. (Nearing double digits, I'm afraid.) Brian and I are huge Batman fans and are so glad to see the defender of Gotham's dignity restored with the Nolan films.
Collecting is a disease, as I always say, and we're on a Batmobile kick right now. Below are five gifts your lil' Batman geeks might enjoy as much as mine have. Is it too late to change my son's name to Bruce Wayne? (My husband shouts, "Yes!")
1. My 1st BatmobileBoth of my kids play with this Batmobile every day. It has withstood some very rough treatment over the past six months and we haven't had to replace the batteries yet! It has awesome sound effects, wings that pop out and working headlights.
This is part of the DC Super Friends line, so all of the figures from that line fit inside. Sometimes Batman teams up with Green Lantern in our Batmobile and sometimes Lex Luthor steals the car for a joyride. That treacherous snake.

Batmobile Owner's ManualThis book is brand-spanking new and serves as a great coffee table book to impress your friends (c'mon, everyone knows you aren't into Impressionist art, so swap this for that boring Degas crap you bought at Half Price Books).
Obviously, I didn't really buy this book for my preschoolers, but I do think they will appreciate it one day. If you have an older geekling, this will surely amaze. It is highly detailed and features some truly badass Jim Lee art. Should I ever make enough money to have a custom Batmobile built, I'll keep this in the Batglove box.

Fathead Batmobile Wall StickerHave you guys discovered these Fathead stickers yet? They are massive, realistic wallies of athletes, superheroes and more. No, they are not cheap. However, the picture on the right doesn't even do them justice. That Batmobile sticker you see on the right is over six feet wide!
We lucked out last year and found a life-size Fathead Batman sticker at Target for $19.99. They usually go for about $80, so I was stoked. Brian and I still haven't committed it to a wall in the new house, though. (What, is he afraid I'm going to try and make out with it or something? I'm 60% sure that I won't.)
Tyco R/C Batman: The Dark Knight Tumbler"Don't tell me you didn't recognize your baby out there, pancaking cop cars on the evening news." (Yeah, I told you I've seen it too many times.) How awesome is the newest Batmobile? With the remote control version, you can reenact your favorite parts of the last two movies!
With my Tumbler, I like to pretend that Batman is racing Katie Holmes back to the Batcave before the Scarecrow's poison kills her. Of course, in my version, she never wakes up. Then, Xenu appears and completely retcons her out of the new mythology. Thanks, Xenu!
Fisher Price Shake'n'Go BatmobileIf you haven't found these Fisher Price Shake'n'Go cars before, they are a lot of fun. Both my 18-month-old and my 3-year-old can operate them without a problem. You just shake them up and set them on the ground -- they fly across the room!
We recently bought the Superman car to match this one and it's just as fun. However, the Superman voice that comes out of the car is so lame. I cringe every time I hear, "Faster than the speed of light" in that SpongeBob-sounding voice.

Awesome suggestions! As you know, we have a major Batman fan in our house who is already planning her 4th birthday Batman party. These look like perfect gifts!

I highly recommend #1 for her! My kids play with it every day and it's super tough. You can get free shipping from Amazon, too, God bless 'em.

Those Fathead stickers are expensive, but they work great. My son has a giant Spider-man hanging from the ceiling in his room. He's the envy of all his friends!

These are neat. I got a custom made Fathead for my son from ThinTwin.com. I think he'd probably like these too, though he is in more of a Spiderman phase at the moment.

That's so cute. I am sure that my friend from high-school would love having something like that for his birthday. In fact I think that this is what I will buy for him because his birthday is in like 12 days or something like that. Thank you very much for the idea.
