The Imagination Movers Show is Coming!

I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but we love the Imagination Movers. You've probably seen their videos on Playhouse Disney if you have preschool-age geeklings. Their latest CD, Juice Box Heroes, has been in regular rotation in our car for months and they are finally getting their own series!

I was lucky enough to watch an advanced screening of the show, which premieres on September 6. Guys, this show is going to be huge. (Imagine your children obsessing over a show that doesn't annoy you!) We loved it and the kids have watched the series premiere a dozen times in the past few days. I can't wait to check out more episodes next month.

The premise of the show is that the Movers work in a warehouse where they solve "idea emergencies." Each Mover has a special ability and they help each other to figure things out. Naturally, there are a lot of musical interludes, as they are a band. The music totally takes Kindie rock to a new level, too.

Jason was in hysterics while watching the show and I had to record him for a minute. Watch this video -- he starts laughing so hard, he almost falls over!

The show premieres on Saturday, September 6 at 10/9c on Playhouse Disney! For more information, check out the band's official homepage or their Disney page, which features fun games and activities. I fully expect to see kids wearing Imagination Movers jumpsuits while trick-or-treating next year! I honestly think this is going to be bigger than The Wiggles (and deservedly so).

The Movers cd sits well between the Ramones and the Circle Jerks without even missing a beat. Great stuff guys and can't wait to dance a jig at a live show with my kids someday.

That's adorable! Its great to see the Movers making it big and making so many kids from all over the country happy! It couldnt have happened to four nicer guys, they really deserve it! I'm from New Orleans and first started hearing about the Movers when my daughter, now a second grader, was in preschool, her teacher knew one of the guys and had started playing their music for the kids. I didnt know what she was comming home singing..."the imagina wha??" We went on a field trip to see them and we've been "Gearheads" ever since. We attend every show within driving distance. Ofcourse now we cant see them as often and they cant do the small shows anymore but seeing them make kids like yours giggle makes me happy to see that so many other children(and parents) get to enjoy these guys!

My son is 2 and I watch a 2 year old little girl and they absolutely love The Imagination Movers. I saw commercials for their new show and thought the guys were good looking and didn't have the corniness of all the other men that have shows. I watch it with them every morning and really enjoy it. The music is great, the guys are silly and not bad to look at either. I DVR some of the episodes and play them in the afternoon and my 5 year old son even enjoys them. I must find a CD to play the songs all the time. It is great and I highly recommend it to everyone!

Just wanted to let you know, though the official costumes are $100 (and unbelievably, on backorder at that price!) you can make your own like I did. No one in the US sells the little blue coveralls in children's sizes, but in the UK (where they are called boilersuits) they are very common. This website has the best prices by far, they will ship one to the US for a total of 14 pounds, or about $28 dollars: www.body-clad.co.uk

Oh my gosh!!! Thank you! I was trying so hard to search for coveralls and really couldn't fork over the $100. BTW - I did email the mover site before I knew they cost so much and they said they should have more done by Halloween. Also, they have new wobble goggles up there for $15. I would love to see pictures of the costume you made!

Thank you for the boilersuit link! We met the Movers at the Disney concert in Philadelphia, and they are four super nice (and talented) guys. They even played instruments with my son and his friend!! It was the highlight of our summer. Their live show was excellent - check them out if they come to your area!

I bought a child's Michael Myers costume today at the Halloween store. It's not perfect, but it's a blue jumpsuit and I chopped off some of the sleeves and legs to make it work. I used red electrical tape on the arms and printed out the logos and taped them on and it looks pretty darn good. My child is happy as a clam he can be Rich for Halloween. And the Michael Myers costume is $27, not $100, a nice difference.

I bought the boiler suit linked above (www.body-clad.co.uk) and total price w/ shipping to KY was indeed about $28. Thanks for the tip! It's a little darker than I expected, but not bad. I bought a pack of iron-on media that can be printed on with an inkjet printer and made the stripes and gear for the sleeves, name tag for the front and logo for the back. Here's a pic of the finished costume: http://topdownmx5.com/misc/IMG_3236.JPG

For the logo on the back, I used this image: http://www.imaginationmovers.com/website/popup_photo.php?id=295&title=New+CD+Cover&file=im_jewelcase.jpg . It's a bit grainy but not too bad once on the outfit. Here's a pic of the back: http://topdownmx5.com/misc/IMG_3237a.JPG

As for the red gear, stripes and name tag, I just drew those up on my computer.

Courtney- The iron on transfers that I used are by Wilton Easyimage and are the ones for dark fabrics. I bought them at a local Michaels craft store. It comes with 5 sheets of transfers and a few sheets of parchment paper to keep the transfer from melting to the iron. They have a website with templates but I didn't use that. I just created the images in a graphics program and printed them out (I did it using Microsoft Publisher because I didn't have a better program to use). Once printed, *carefully* cut out the pieces. One struggle I had when applying the cut out transfers to the fabric was to use just the right amount of pressure and time with the iron. Too little and they don't bond real well. Too much and the dark blue fabric would bleed through the transfer a little bit. I just had to go slow and careful. What problems were you having?

I bought two suits from them for my boys and sewed red stripes on the sleeve and felt gears and name tags. I used iron on transfer paper for the back logo too. The boys want to wear them every day! I am thrilled with the way they turned out. I ordered Rich's scribble sticks and a Smitty hat from the website. Best Halloween costumes EVER.

I know this is an old thread, but I'm curious as to the sizing of the 'Boiler Suits' from the UK website. Since they are sized like this: "2yrs 22 , 4yrs 24 , 6yrs 26 , 8yrs 28". If my son is wearing a size 8, do I buy him an "8yrs 28"? He's only 5 yrs old, but really tall. This is going to be his Halloween costume this year, and maybe he'll even wear it when we go see they're show live on tour!
Thanks for all the info on the costume too!

a european 8 is comparable to an american 8, though if your boy is a little chunky i would go bigger. if there is an H&M near you, they will help you get a feel for european sizing as it runs a little taller and more slender.

I just ordered the boiler suit from VictorBuddies in royal. I'm hoping it is more of a royal and not navy. They don't have a size 22 (2) so I ordered a 24 for my son which might be a little big for my son, but I'm hoping it will work.
Does anyone have the images for the back and the gear on their computer in the right size for the costume. I'm not able to get the images in a good resolution for the size that I need.
As for the name badge, on the playhouse disney website they have a page for celebrations with the images that I should be able to use. However, if anyone has a different picture for the name badge that I could use to add my son's name to, that would be great.
I would appreciate any help you can give me.
