Back To School: Recommended Products For Your Lil' Geeks
Many of you are probably preparing your geeklings for a new school year. Jason turns three in a few weeks and we plan on starting a pre-school curriculum from home. My husband and I feel really lucky to be able to work from home. It has always been our intention to homeschool our children, though we will likely hire private tutors for any subject we don't feel comfortable with in the future (calculus - ick).
No matter where your little ones are going to school this year, I think you might be interested in a few products I have recently discovered. The first is the Very Meri line of t-shirts. These adorable shirts are designed by children, for children and they all carry a positive, creative message. Many of them feature back-to-school themes, such as "Kindergarten Rocks!" and "Be Buddies Not Bullies."

I scored a cute rocket ship shirt for Jason ("Blast Off!") and it was my intention to take a cute pic of him wearing it so I could post it on the blog. Alas, getting a three-year-old boy to slow down for a normal picture is nearly impossible. Like I said before, I'd sooner get a clear a shot of Sasquatch. (Yes, I'm still on the BigFoot thing, okay?)
We have also found some great early learning workbooks for Jason that I wanted to recommend. School Zone makes some of the most fantastic workbooks and flashcards that I have seen so far. I'm happy to report that he definitely identifies all the upper-case letters and numbers up to 20! By the end of the year, I hope to have him reading and writing at a sixth grade level so I can outsource some of my ghostwriting gigs to him. (I'm only half joking.)
So, check out Very Meri and School Zone as the new school year begins. Also, feel free to recommend any other back-to-school goods, as we are new to homeschooling and don't want to overlook anything worthwhile!

Giftventure has a cool Back-to-School adventure that allows you to create an adventure around any back to school product (Very Meri, etc.).
I am not sure how well it works for homeschooling, but I'd love to pick your brain around that. See:
