Best. Lois. Ever.

Okay, so I went on a mission last year to acquire autographs from all the major actresses who played Lois Lane. These are being stored for my own little Lois, as I thought they would make a great keepsake. Most actresses responded quickly and I even met Noel Neill in person.

Margot Kidder was definitely the Lois Lane I grew up with and she played the character perfectly, in my opinion. I wrote her last year and heard nothing, which isn't wholly uncommon when you collect autographs. Being the impatient person I am, I finally bought an autographed pic through a dealer I know and trust.

Well... fast forward six months and look what I found in my mailbox this week!

Photobucket

I received not one, but four autographed pictures, all made out to my little Lois. Margot even apologized for the delay in a handwritten letter. How amazing is that? (The lobby card is especially cool!) We're about to move into a new house and I'm going to have all of my Lois Lane autographs framed and placed on little Lois' bedroom wall.

I've collected a lot of autographs through the mail over the years. Some celebrities take over a year to respond, while others don't respond at all. The only other person who has ever apologized for a delay with a note was Clive Barker (awesome guy).

So, this definitely made my week!

That is SO cool! I'm the biggest comic geek EVER. LOL. My fiancé and I have over 30,000 issues between the two of us. We have a whole room called the Nerd Cave where we store all our comics and memorabilia. I'd love to get something like this!

Holy crap, they're making a Black Canary?! Finally, she gets some mainstream recognition! I mean, she only chairs the JLA... yeesh.

I've been picking up DC Barbies here and there on eBay (the only Barbies to ever enter my house, if I can help it).

            This is exciting news, indeed!

I know! I squeeeed my butt off when I saw! I loves me some Canary, and she deserves a lot more recognition than she gets. I think the horrible WB Birds of Prey series sealed her fate.

I like the new Wonder Woman better than the last, but I'm not horribly impressed with Batgirl. Then again, I'm just not a big fan of her character, so it's probably just my unfair bias coming into play.

Agreed. The BoP series was *so* terrible and I really tried to get into it. Man, that would make such an awesome show if it was done correctly.

I try to buy that BoP action figure boxset on eBay occasionally, but it always goes for too much!! (The one with the clock tower-looking box)

Margot Kidder! She's kind of a wack job now, but she was the coolest Lois ever IMO.

Nah, she's a great lady. She has bipolar disorder and the media caught wind of one of her manic episodes... made her out to be a lunatic, which she isn't.

It's a real bummer they did that. She's no Anne Heche!

I met Ms. Kidder at a comicon last year -- she was very sweet and gracious to all the nerdy Clarklings that swarmed around her.

Oh no, now I feel bad. I didn't know about any mental health aspect, I just remember some news reports about really weird behavior. They do tend to sensationalize that kind of things.

I agree with you, she was the best Lois. Of course, I also like that first movie's Superman and Clark Kent too. (This was before they tried to make Clark cooler, which I believe was a mistake.)

I do believe that the media can be pretty cruel (and wildly inaccurate) when they discover any kind of mental illness in any celebrity. Blown way out of proportion.

    Btw, she recently did this:

    I think it was interesting.
