R.I.P. Chuck
One of the greatest actors of all time, Charlton Heston, passed away this weekend at the age of 84. My mother made me the geek I am today by letting me watch Planet of the Apes, Soylent Green and Omega Man at a tender age.
I always dreamed I'd meet him one day and, after respectfully calling him Mr. Heston, he'd say, "Call me Chuck." They really broke the mold with this guy.

A true great American. He will be missed.

Did they take anything out of his cold dead hand?
You're right, he'll be missed.

Ben Hur and Soylent Green are my fave movies he did.

I haven't seen many of his movies - now that I think about it just "Planet of the Apes." But he was definitely the type of actor we don't see anymore, a real leading man.

I recently exposed my own young ones to this classic and now their favorite random expression (loudly declare for no apparent reason) is, "SOILENT GREEN IS PEOPLE!" I'm sure I'll be voted mother of the year
