That's Nice... Is There A Kill Switch?
Behold, the newest animatronic Elmo that you will be strongly encouraged to buy this holiday season:
This was a demo of Elmo Live from Toy Fair 2008. What you didn't see in the video is the part where a 1996 Tickle Me Elmo barged in and said, "Come with me if you want to live."

I see a weakness that will make Elmo fly around the room until the cable snaps. I don't think he will be that peppy then

Too funny...I'll try to follow this emerging story of Elmo taking over the world...you KNOW the New York times will bury it in the back section of the paper, but we will know...we will know

Interesting. Toys such as this new Elmo will put an interesting push on the higher end models like Pleo. Animatronics are seriously moving into the mainstream! The problem I have with all of them is that it takes their target market all of about 5 seconds to snap a neck, or bust an arm. An then your left with something very, very sad... Especially when the child has bonded to it. Maybe someone should start an Animatronic Eden. A place where broken toys can go and spend the rest of their "battery" lives in bliss. Hmmm... Maybe we could virtualize it... Wait! I think I'm on to something here!

That's just so wrong. I can't stand all these animatronic toys! My girls are much happier playing with toys that actually require imagination. They seem to get bored with toys that tell them what to do. They'd rather make up their own stories. Plus, mommy usually doesn't replace batteries that die. I know -- bad mommy!

Wow... I am SO not okay with this!
My brother had a Tickle Me Elmo, and I thought THAT was bad, but this is just frightening!
