Geek Parenting is a blog for pop culture junkies who have spawned, yet refuse to give up their geeky obsessions.
Amy Cottrell is the creator and author of Geek Parenting. She is a proud mommy, devoted wife and full-time geek.
As a professional writer, Amy specializes in Web content and search engine optimization. She would prefer to talk about babies and comic books, though.

I was a Lego nut and I think my favorite was their castle line. I had all the original castle stuff when it first came out and I remember playing non stop with all that yellow block that summer. The battles and sieges were things of legend. Happy birthday Lego and I hope my kids will feel the same way in the next 50 years.

Legos are good for building things to fit inside Construx structures. Myt kids have both (they were my brother's) and we find that the tub of construx is more often dispersed across the house as rockets, airplanes, etc. while the legos tend to stay in one place--the box or in the girls' doll house (they build their own furniture.)
